My Reflection of 2022

Kia Ora bloggers here is my reflection of 2022 hope you enjoy!

The Event that I remember the most is definitely camp. I remember camp so clearly because it so fun and because it was a time to hang out with all my friends.

The event that I enjoyed the most was the snorkeling at goat island, I enjoyed it because I got to see so many more fish and they were all so interesting.

The subject that I think I have made the most improvements in is math because I got better at division but I think I still need to work on it. The Subject that I have enjoyed the most is Spelling because I find it really fun and because I am really good at it.

Some new Friendships I have made are Zara and Tehani because I have become closer friends with them.

The opportunities that I have completed are Sports Room, AV Room, House captain, Compost and Gardening. I feel good about my opportunity  because they are really fun, I get to do it with my friends and also because I feel more responsible and reliable when doing them. Something that I would like to share about my 2022 is that I feel like I have improved in my dancing and swimming. The reason for dancing is because I wasn’t confident at first with sharing my dance moves and also dancing infront of people but now I am comfortable and I am even in the group for making our graduation dance. Swimming because I was terrible at freestyle because it would look like I was just slapping the water but now I am way faster and way more elegant when I am swimming.

Some Stuff you could think about or share about 2022.

  1. What do you remember the most?
  2. Why do you think you remember it so clearly?
  3. What event did you enjoy the most?
  4. What did you enjoy about it?

Crazy Cool Black Ferns

Kia Ora Bloggers,

Today my blog will be all about the amazing Black Ferns!

So I am going to start off with explaining why I am talking to you about the Black ferns. Well There is a player in the team that you may have heard of called “Sylvia Brunt” And you may be wondering “Why are you talking about just her?”, well believe it or not Sylvia was a True Waikowhai kid, Yep she came to this school! And she is also The cousin of one of my Best friends Dustine. Sylvia’s team are currently in the world cup and they decided that they would send us our very own Rugger (Rugger is the Black Ferns mascot) Here is some of there ways to stay positive

They have posters that say:

Focus, Fly, Believe, Rise, Dance, Celebrate.

And here is a link so you can catch up on how they are going:

Wonderful Museum Trip

Kia Ora,
On Tuesday the 18th of October the entire Te Waka Ako syndicate went to the Auckland Museum for a trip.

My favorite part of that was The Weird and Wonderful place because it was really cool to see all the different animals and also it was fun because there were big draws that were labeled and when you pulled them out there were cool animals pinned to a board for display. And we were there for about 4-5 hours. My Favorite Artifact/item there was definitely the pin boards with the bugs because they had so many new insects and arachnids and it was so interesting.

And I have a question for you,

If you went to the Museum what do you think your favorite place be?

Also I have a slideshow that I wanted to share with you:

A New Challenge at School Camp

Kia Ora!

On the 9th to the 13th of May 2022 the year 6’s at Waikowhai Primary School  went to a school camp in Mangawhai.

We did many activitys like Kayaking, The Fire Pit, Paddle boating and more.

But the activity That I personally Think was the most challenging was the Burma trail.

For those who don’t know what a Burma trail is I will tell you now

A Burma Trail is a trail set up through the bush  and it is an activity that will challenge anyone. To complete the trail, the participant needs to navigate effectively so that they can follow the trail by using lots of different senses and communication. The trail is set up with lots of obstacles, logs and goes around trees, and just to make it interesting, we do this activity at night. The participants are sometimes blindfolded and in the dark. They go carefully, (always under adult supervision) and holding onto and following a rope through the bush . The participants need to watch out for instructors and adults who like to hide and scare you on the way!

Going on the Burma trail in the dark was fun and scary! I had to keep hold of a rope, and then the parents tried to scare you and they were making noises. Lots of people screamed! and it was the best day!

A Team walks through the bush holding the rope, they must move slowly so they don’t trip or fall.

We Gather the group together and show them the start and the end.

The Teams are always to stay together.

We have to Be aware of others around you as you move, keep a slow steady pace

We had to Always keep a hand on the rope.

Here are some photos and links of burma trails.

Family Fun Day!

Bonjour

At my School we had a Family Fun Day.

At that Fun Day we got to do a whole lot of stuff.

Like These:

Pool

Slip’n’Slide

An inflatable Slide

Wheel Zone

Bouncy castle-More of a Bouncy Ship Though

Obstacle Course (tiring)

We also had to wear our house colours, I am in Pukeko so I had to wear green 🟩.

It was SO MUCH FUN! the first event of the day was The pool and slip ‘n ‘Slide I went on the slip ‘n’ slide first and it was so cold 🥶 But it warmed up eventually. After the slip ‘n’ slide I had a choice to go in the pool but I was cold So I decided I would go later. The next event was an inflatable obstacle course and wheel zone, we had to go through the inflatable course weave around some polls and along the playground and then it was a sprint to the finish! I was so worn out in the end because I had done 17 laps of it I just wanted to fall asleep 💤. But the wheel zone you could just go on bikes, scooters, skateboards, basically anything! The next event that was after that fun activity was the bouncy castle/ship it was super fun! But the house captains (I’m one of them) had to take care of the people and make sure that the people got there fair turns. Another half of the House captains were doing the same thing but with an inflatable slide it kind of hurt to go down it because you get burns on your feet from going down so fast. Once we had done with that we had a choice to swim again and of course I said YES! Eventually when we got out it was time to pack up but I don’t think you want to hear about that. It was a good day, but my favorite thing of all had to be the obstacle course, it was just so fun! Running around a lot is what I like doing in my spare time. 🏃

Here are some Photos of the day!

See you another time!
